Pole Dance Heels

What Are Pole Dance Heels?

Pole dance heels are specially designed high-heeled shoes worn for performance, training, or expression in pole dancing. They’re not just about looks — they’re functional tools that add weight, assist with flow, and help define the style of a routine. Most pole heels are platform boots or sandals with reinforced soles and ankle support.

Why Wear Pole Heels?

For many dancers, heels are more than an accessory — they’re a creative extension of movement. Pole heels can:

  • Enhance leg lines and movement flow
  • Add a sense of empowerment and sensuality
  • Support spins and slides with smooth, controlled motion
  • Contribute to balance and control during floorwork

Types of Pole Dance Heels

Not all heels are the same — here are the most common types:

  • Platform Heels (6–8 inches): The classic pole look, with stability and strong impact
  • Ankle Boots: Provide extra ankle support, great for beginners or heavy floorwork
  • Strappy Sandals: Lighter, more minimal feel — often used in flow or freestyle
  • Open-Toe vs. Closed-Toe: Depends on personal style and trick comfort

Getting Started in Heels

If you’ve never danced in heels before, don’t worry — it’s a journey. You might want to:

  • Start with 6-inch heels for a balanced introduction
  • Choose boots for ankle support if you’re new to floorwork
  • Practice transitions and spins slowly to adjust to the added weight
  • Train both barefoot and in heels — each teaches you something different

What We Believe at POLEPLACE

Pole heels are a choice — not a requirement. Some people feel powerful in them. Others prefer bare feet. Both are valid. At POLEPLACE, we love what heels can bring: confidence, creativity, and fun. But we also believe your journey is yours. Wear what makes you feel strong, and explore at your own pace.
