Floor-Stand-Air Method™

What Is the Floor-Stand-Air Method™?

The Floor-Stand-Air Method™ is POLEPLACE’s signature training approach for learning pole dance safely, progressively, and confidently. It breaks down your training into three movement zones: floor, standing, and aerial — helping you build strength, trust, and technique step by step.

Why We Created It

Many beginners jump straight into tricks they’re not ready for — leading to frustration, injury, or burnout. Our method slows things down and teaches you how to master the pole from the ground up. It’s not about rushing to go upside down — it’s about learning how your body moves, connects, and expresses itself.

The Three Levels Explained

  • FLOOR: All movements done on or close to the floor — like body rolls, slides, waves, transitions, and basework. This is where you develop awareness, control, and creativity.
  • STAND: Movements done while standing, such as pirouettes, spins, and grounded tricks. This zone is all about balance, strength, and building fluidity between moves.
  • AIR: Aerial moves where both feet are off the ground. This includes climbs, inverts, sits, and advanced tricks. Entering the air zone happens gradually — only once you’re ready.

Who Is It For?

The Floor-Stand-Air Method™ is designed for:

  • Total beginners who feel intimidated by traditional studio classes
  • Dancers returning to pole after a break and wanting to rebuild safely
  • Anyone looking for a holistic, empowering way to grow in pole dance

Benefits of This Method

  • Builds trust in your body and the process without pressure or comparison
  • Reduces injury risk by introducing moves progressively
  • Boosts confidence — you feel strong and prepared before going upside down
  • Encourages expression at every level, not just in advanced tricks

What We Believe at POLEPLACE

You deserve to feel safe, seen, and celebrated — no matter where you’re starting from. The Floor-Stand-Air Method™ was created to meet you where you are and guide you where you want to go. Pole isn’t just about big tricks — it’s about how you feel while learning. And we’re here for every step.
